Biography
Dr. Lisa Franklin-Banton is the primary consultant pediatrician. She has had tremendous experience in private practice over the last decade. She gained her qualifications through a four-year post-graduate degree (Doctor of Medicine) in Paediatrics at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), Mona, Jamaica. She is the immediate past president of the Paediatrics Association of Jamaica (PAJ) and served two prior roles as the Vice President and the Treasurer.
Of more significance, however, is her passion for paediatrics and her love for children. She is living a childhood dream that goes back to her early visits to her paediatrician. As a mother of three boys, she likes to say her hands-on personal experience fuels her compassion for worried parents, even in what may seem to many as a minor circumstance.
She has been a regular contributing author to the Health Section of the Jamaica Gleaner on a range of paediatric topics ranging from Immunization to Sexting and other challenges parents face with their kids, whether they are tots, tweens or teens. She regularly makes other contributions in the way of public education through television and radio interviews.
Dr. Franklin-Banton prides herself in being accessible to parents to address their medical concerns, because she understands that when it comes to your sick child, good and timely advice is important.
